VerseLingua is a free Bible-reading app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It puts the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts beside English and Chinese translations, so you can study each word.

To report a problem in a Bible text, include the version and the reference, for example “BSB, John 3:16”.
Common questions
Which versions are included?
These are built into the app and work offline:
- Hebrew and Aramaic Old Testament (Westminster Leningrad Codex)
- Greek New Testament (SBL Greek New Testament)
- Greek Old Testament (Brenton Septuagint)
- English: Berean Standard Bible, NET Bible (text only), King James Version and World English Bible
- Chinese Union Version (和合本), in Traditional and Simplified characters
The NIV, NASB and NLT are available online and load as you read. You can also add the ESV with your own key (see below).
How do I add the ESV?
Get a free, non-commercial API key from api.esv.org. In VerseLingua, open Library, choose Add ESV… and paste your key. Then choose ESV in an English column.
How do my notes sync?
Notes and highlights sync through your own iCloud account. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each device. To sync right away, open Reader settings and choose Sync now. You can also back up and restore your notes there.
Can I use VerseLingua without the internet?
Yes. To stop the app from requesting any online text, open Reader settings and turn on Do not use online versions. The built-in versions and iCloud sync keep working.
Why are some words not linked?
Word links between the original languages and translations cover many, but not all, words and passages. Differences between the texts can leave a word unlinked. The study panel shows where each link comes from.
Can I add another Bible version?
Yes, if you have it as a VerseLingua module (a .bstudy file). Open Reader settings and choose Import Bible version….
Where is the in-app guide?
Open Reader settings and choose Help…. The guide is available in English, 简体中文 and 繁體中文.

VerseLingua has no accounts, ads or tracking. Read the privacy policy.
